Gemstones, Ballet Flats and Empire Waists

Question: What do you wear to a Sunday School Christmas party for adults or a party where you are seeing old college friends? Here's my advice...for the adult christmas party, wear nice slacks with a festive sweater...yes, it can be the Christmas decoration kind. But you can also wear a pretty sweater that has some bling on it...you know, a bit of gemstones that are embellished on it or something sparkly. Gemstones around the neckline is really popular now and they are out there on sale. A pretty knee length dress that has an empire waist is also a great choice. Get this in a silky fabric in gray or black. For that party with old college friends, get great fitting jeans, ballet flats and an embellished top with that empire waist I told you about with the dress. If you'd rather wear a silver or gold knit top, that works well, too. Don't go too wide legged on the jeans if you are wearing the ballet flats. If your jeans have a wider leg, then wear a skinny heel with it with the peekaboo toe...no hose.

Jeannie, Wasn't the cruise so much fun?? For the best fitting jeans I've ever had (and own still) try "Not Your Daughter's Jeans". It's a brand you can get a good department stores, like Dillards, Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, etc. They actually have a tummy tucker in them (it's built into the shape of the jeans) and fit amazingly well. They never get too loose and don't lose their shape. I wash them but hang to dry. They are a darker blue so look great for dress. They also come in different colors...I have them in dark brown, too. Though they are a little pricey...about $120. But worth it if you want a terrific fitting jean. love ya, Shari

Shari, We do have a Dillard's down here in the south of Georgia...I have never heard of the brand but will def try them on. It'd kill me to pay that much $$ for jeans but if they are as good as you say, I'd do it. I have a stack of jeans in my closet that don't even fit that prob cost me double that, anyway!

Thanks for your comment on my blog as well...Yes, I wish we had more time to talk. I've shared my colors with friends and they want your e-book!

Blessings, Jeannie
