Oh dear, this is my third post in one week but I just have to get something off my chest.
*
My 13 year old son just told me he has a girlfriend.
*
Okay, now I know this may not seem strange to some of you, but, honestly, I don't want him to have one.
*
And really, when your son comes home and tells you this, don't you just know she's gonna be the one you would have picked out for him?
*
Hmmmm. Not so.
*
I mean, I'm sure she's nice and all, but really now, isn't he supposed to like someone who's parents I know?
*
Isn't he supposed to at least consult me on this? I mean, he still wants me to tuck him in every night. No matter that he is 6'3" and the quarterback of his school football team.
*
Oh, but, no maam. Not so.
*
Isn't it enough that he has lots of "girl" friends?
*
It's not like he hasn't had a girlfriend before. He has, several times, in fact.
*
BUT I KNEW THEIR PARENTS.
*
There. It's off my chest. I'm done.
*
Is it okay to pray for it to only last a week?
*
There. That's it...my new prayer.
*
Thanks for listening. It's just that I don't feel real good about this. Can't really put my finger on it, but, there, I said it.
*
Not feeling good about this, (I think I said that already) love, Shari

Oh no.... say it isn't so!

Nick is 14 and I am dreading the day I have to hear those words. So far he has only gazed from afar at the same gal ever since the 6th grade! (Hmmm... can someone say STALKER?!)

Actually, when I ask him about her he gets all red in the face and says he's pacing himself. He wants to get to know her a bit more. He says that spending so much time in the Proverbs 31 office has taught him that women are crazy and emotional so he's just being cautious for his own protection!

He has said that, when it was time, he would bring them home for my approval first (awwwww... that makes me proud). Then he added, "Both the smart pretty ones, and the salty wenches!" (He has seen Pirates of the Caribbean one too many times!)

Love Ya!
