What to Wear: Miami Style

I just returned from spending three days in Miami shopping with two of my private client group members. I don't talk much about this elite group but if you are wondering what that is and have a little extra money to spend, this might be for you. I only add a limited number of new private clients per year and yes, it's pricey, but if you hate to shop, want expert assistance in adding to your wardrobe, have a complete hair makeover including color and cut with new style, get picked up by limo, spend two nights in a luxurious hotel, (by the way all this is included in the group price) and you have the money to spend (like I said, it's not for everyone) then you should email me seperately to find out about it. I am taking a few new clients this season. I brought this up because the clients I was with in Miami told me that I needed to let you know about it because since they love it so much, they thought you might too and I usually never talk much about it. Let me know if you want to know more.
Warning: It is not for the faint of heart when it comes to money.
*
Miami was so much fun and I was able to add to the wardrobes of each of these clients which happen to be a husband and wife. I spent Saturday pre-shopping for them as I visited the stores I wanted to take them to, then Sunday and Monday spent time with each of them purchasing their clothing items and accessories. It was fun, fun and we had such an enjoyable time. And they're lookin' GOOD!
*
Miami Style is not unlike the rest of the country except that everything is a little (or alot) shorter and a little (or alot) lower, as in plunging necklines. Short and low is somewhat the theme there. Casual dress is different there because everyone seems a little more dressed up. As I looked around and observed the women I realized that the basic pieces they wore were really no different than most places.
*
But there were 2 BIG differences.
*
Purses and Shoes.
*
Every single woman I saw (okay, not EVERY one but most) had an awesome purse and pair of shoes. They could have the most basic of pieces on, say, a pair of jeans and nice top, but the shoes...OH MY!  And the purse....OH Grand!
*
As you're planning your spring wardrobes I want you to take an inventory of your purses and your shoes. What is outdated and worn and time to be thrown out or given away? Does your purse get compliments? Does it ADD to your outfit and give it some dazzle? What about your shoes? Do they bring your outfits some fun? Some zippity do da? Some beauty? Or are you still wearing your old shoes from last year? Or tennis shoes with every outfit you own? Or scuffed up boots that need polished?
*
It's time to look at these 2 crucial pieces in your wardrobe. Find a purse that you can wear with all your things this spring but that also looks like a fine accessory to your clothes. A show stopper, or at the least, one that really adds to your outfits. You only need one bag for the season so make it a good, fun one! I can't wait for you to see the one I bought while in Miami...it's awesome!
*
As for shoes, you don't have to spend a lot...in fact I was at the Rack Room shoe outlet last week and got 4 new pair of spring wedge sandals for $40...total! They were $10 each!
If you live anywhere near that outlet (it's exit 50 on I-77 near Statesville, NC) run, don't walk there now! Okay, drive..but not too slowly!
*
I wanted to show you pics of my finds but I just flew in a little while ago and needed to get this posted on time so in a day or so I'll take some pics and post them right here on this post, okay?  Oh, by the way, I'm going to be doing a Beauty Boot Camp at the end of April and will be getting details out about that soon...it is a 2 day event in Charlotte and will have a block of hotel rooms for those who want to come in for it...but again, details to come soon.
*
Have a beautiful week! Love you all!

I am trying to put your advice into practice. But what gets me stuck in choosing a purse and shoes for spring is deciding on a color that will go with most of my clothes. I am a Deep and I go with black in the fall and winter but I want something more fun for spring/summer. Any ideas, Shari?

I second Amanda's comments about the purse - I don't know where to start in choosing a color/pattern for a fabulous purse that would look good with all (or at least most) of my outfits.
And I can't wait to hear more about Beauty Boot Camp!
