Day 4 Challenge: Frumpy to Fab in 30 Days

DAY 4 CHALLENGE: Embrace your Shape! Love the body you are currently in, not the one you're hoping to have (or the body of your youth...or before kids). The body you are in now is the one we are going to dress!!!! If you are in the middle of losing weight, consider that for every 12 lbs, it is typically one size so keep this in mind and know that you'll likely have to buy new bottoms (pants, short...s) more often than new tops because tops can take you thru several sizes as you're losing weight.

Part A: UNDERSTAND AND KNOW where you gain your most weight. Is it your belly, your hips and thighs, your butt, your boobs, or do you gain evenly all over? Even if you gain evenly all over (or you are currently at your ideal weight), then even then, you will likely have some places on your body that are a bit challenging. When you know this, it will make it easier to dress.

So let's NAME your body shape:

If you gain in belly: B body shape If you gain in hips, thighs, derrierre: D body shape
If you gain in bust area and upper midriff area:
O body shape If you gain evenly all over or are at ideal weight:
X body shape

Once you identify your shape, please read about YOUR specific shape in Chapter 1 of my book. If you are a combination of shapes, then read both parts. Keep in mind the place where you gain the MOST amount of weight will be your type. Once you read this section, fill in the line of your Style Sheet regarding Body Shape. After you write down your shape, write down 3-5 tips regarding HOW to dress for your particular shape. Write this under the Style Notes section on your Style Sheet.

P.S. For those of you who don't have the book yet, you may refer to my blog for past articles on shapes.

P.S.S. For those of you who DO have my book, feel free to give one tip on your comments for those who may have similar shapes.

Have Fun!

My body shape is X and I have typed 3 tips on my sheet. One is to wear skirts with a flared hem around the knee to look balanced.

I'm a body type O according to the book. I feel like this is a very hard shape to overcome. It's easy for tops to go from classy to trashy with the neckline in the wrong place. I loved the tip about keeping lots of camis to help with this problem.
