Hi Shari,
Thank you for your posts and a wonderful book! I am a Deep Classic Modern. When reading your description of the Classic Modern last week I thought oh ya - that's so me. My favorite basic color to build around is ummm sorry black. Love reds, blue's and whine's. I pretty much run from brown. Last week while shopping my son said "mom you look at the new fashions, but aren't really ready to try until others have and awhile later you think about it." I truely believe this was said with a sweet heart. Most of my wardrode is interchangeable. I really enjoy wearing jewelry. My tendencies are towards classic, but not wild. Most importantly from your book I have been reminded to accept myself for who I am and who God meant me to be even with some extra fluff.

Shari, thanks for doing this series... I had been thinking I was a classic modern until I saw the pics/description of the pure natural and I'm thinking I fall somewhere in the middle... is that ok? Or should I try to stick with 1 style?

Better late than never Shari. :) Sounds like you have been one busy gal. I enjoyed the FB pics and video of your AZ trip, are you going to post pics of this last one also? I am definitely a classic modern, I love some aspects of all the styles but CM is what I feel the most like "me" in. Since I do my own jewelry I have plenty of pieces to mix and match with my wardrobe and jazz it up. Hope you get a rest from all your travels and definitely a good nights sleep! :) God bless!

Shari, I don't know where you get your energy from! I add my thanks for this series. I have to go back and puruse CM and Pure natural to see for sure which one I am. I hope you have a chance for a bit of a break now!

Welcome home! Did you receive any snow? Looks like we may have an inch here in the mountains.I am a Classic Modern. I have never been one to experiment with jewelry but after reading your book I bought a cuff bracelet and love it! Thank you so much for opening my eyes! :)

So glad you got home safely. I am a classic modern. I have loved learning how to accessorize with scarfs & jewelry. Thanks for this series and showing us more examples of each style.

I am a Pure Natural followed closely on the heels by Classic Modern. The pictures really help. Thank you Shari for the detail and positive nature you exude. Several of us relate to PN and CM. Would you post a blog on wardrobe and accessory helps for the combo? mheard11@frontier.com

I was so worried that I fit into the "I Ain't Got No Style Category" and then I read your blog about the Classic Modern and hallelujah, I found out that I do have a style and I'm going to begin shopping on purpose now!!
Thanks so much :)

I am definitely a Classic Modern (with a smidgen of Pure Natural thrown in). At first I was fighting that word 'classic' but when you emphasized 'modern' and showed the pics...well I am now quite happy to be a CM! Love, love, love your book...thank you for sharing with all of us!!

I think I am probably a classic modern. However...I love, love, love a lot of what you showed today...I just do not like standing out in a crowd. So, I would probably ogle over someone else wearing them, but would not wear much of it myself because I would be too afraid of being noticed or looked at! Glad you got home safely, can't wait to see the new Kika Paprika stuff and dream about it!

Classic Modern. Although I do live my flip flops AND leopard. But, overall, I'm pretty classic. I'm still hoping you will post the stores you chose the pictures from so I can buy some of the clothes :)

Thanks again for doing this! I so look forward to the post. I would LOVE a What To Wear Magazine....hint hint!
Anyway....I am a classic modern. Keep up the great work!!

As much as I would like to be a Fashionista, I am a Classic Modern.

I love your posts and pictures since I am a visual learner! Thanks Shari!!!

I am a warm classic modern - with hints of pure natural when I am not at work. Thanks for doing this series with the pictures - it has been very helpful alongside your book.

I've also checked out the kikaPaprika clothing online and might have to see if there is a consultant in my area - love it!

I think I take elements of each style but put them into a more Modern/Classic spin.

I think I'm a mix of a PN and CM. Is it weird to have a wardrobe and accessory lot that uses both? I don't want to look like I'm a hodge-podge of confusion, though. Hmmmm. I appreciate all the time you put into helping all of us understand and use our style and beauty to the max.

Just got my copy of the book in yesterday!!!!YAYAYAYAYAY!
I haven't been able to read in detail yet, just flipped through briefly, but seriously, I'm a comination of 2 styles: Classic Modern and Style Fashionista...

Yes, I work in a law firm, and I love the classic looks, but can't resist some good accessories (shoes and hadnbags).

Can't wait to dig deeper in the book!

So glad that you got back safely! Hope you are rested up :-) I am feeling hard pressed to place myself in a style category. Is it possible to be a Pure Original? Or maybe a Creative Natural?? I know what I like, I just don't think it fits neatly into one category. Maybe you could check out the pics I sent you and tell me what you think?! I'm also a Deep, so dark or bright colors are my favorites. I'm trying to branch out and try deep purples and blues, which I've never cared for, though I think they'll look nice. Thanks so much for all you do! Blessings today!

This has been a great series! I knew from your book that I'm a Classic Modern but this REALLY helped me understand what that means and embrace my style.

Hi Sari,
I'm so glad you did this series! I've been sending the links to my friends to help them realized what style they truly have! I am a classic modern. Very classic modern. While consignment shopping with a girlfriend, she kept laughing at how easy it was to find things that looked like "me". And it was! Once you know what your style is, its very easy to pick out what is you, and what isn't. Thanks!

I am a Classic Modern. Actually I was a Classic but since reading your book and working on myself-- I'm pushing myself into the Modern era. Thank you so much-- I can tend to get dated and frumpy if I'm not careful-- but with your help I can see my style and love who I am and how I am evolving.

Caren who will NEVER wear black again ;)

I am a classic modern with a touch of creative original.

Can you have a split fashion personality? I just got your book (loving it!), and I've been mulling this over. I love classic modern. I have some clothes in this style that I feel great in. However, I am a homeschooling mom, and I often feel over-dressed in that style clothing and therefore tend to dress more pure natural. I guess I need to figure out what constitutes casual attire in a classic modern style.

I'm a Classic Modern. This has been fun!
:-) LOVE your book!!

Thank you so much. I hope you are enjoying your 10 days off and the fresh snow. You definitely deserve a break.

I am a classic modern with a leaning towards natural.

LOVE these posts Sheri!! I'm a classic Modern and Style fashionista (I think they're tied). I love wearing classic pieces but sprinkling in some HOT on trend items to spice it up a bit. :) LOVING THOSE BIG ACCESSORIES!!

Enjoy your day! God Bless!

I'm definately a classic modern. It's been great learning how to accessorize and I love the rule of 16 (although I have a bit more learning to do because I usually end up at 14). I love your book!

Tammy said...

This tends to be a pattern on here but I fall into the classic modern/pure natural category as well! Thanks Shari for your book and blog. I have never had much style but hopefully with your help I can get this figured out! Have a blessed day.

Shari, happy to hear you are home safely and hope you are getting rested. I knew from your book that I am a Classic Modern and enjoyed the photos you used on the blog post! I am a warm and love buying colors that make me look my best; some are colors I have never worn before and I love it! As some of the girls have said; I too have been adding more accessories and appreciate the 16 point rule! On Sunday morning, my husband saw me counting and asked what I was doing. He then said, “Does this have something to do with Shari?” LOL

Last week I decided to get a pair of jeans for my body type that you suggested in your book. The Old Navy Flirt Jeans are awesome and fit just right! Thanks for all you do!

I love reading your blog and looking at all the styles in the pictures. I think I'm a Creative Fashionista. :) I always try to give the current looks my own spin. I view leopard print as a neutral, but I also love paisley prints. I try not to wear them together. :) My six year old is even more creative, and she loves to wear leopard print with pink.

I am a classic modern, but I sure love some of the pics today! I have a question for you -- I bought a pair of animal print ballet flats (at goodwill :)). The only way I can think of wearing them is without socks, so I am waiting til spring. To me, they look weird with socks. Any tips?

Thanks,
Beth

Hi Shari! Figured you were traveling somewhere when the post wasn't posted by 9! Hope you had a good flight and are catching up on your rest today!
I've come to think that I'm a mix of Pure Natural and Classic Modern. But then you showed those great rings and I have sported one of those (swiped from my daughers room) from time to time. I still think for the most part I'm a pure natural/classic modern depending on the day and occasion.
Thanks for the fun post!

Is it too late??? :) I am a classic modern with a touch of Fashionista. I so related to the CM stuff, but I was drooling over some of the stuff from the Fashionista list. Hmmm....

I am a Classic Modern in the United States, but a Style Fashionista on vacations abroad, ha! I'll never see those people again, so I don't mind amping up my style. Really though, CM, and proud. The book has been so helpful. I've been making fun changes, and I actually received compliments on my hair!
Thank you for everything, Shari

Shari - Sorry that we stole you away from your blog readers for a few days, but we loved meeting you and learned SO much!
I am a style fashionista with moments of Pure Naturalism! I am desperately in need of accessories to make my points on a daily basis! ;)
So looking forward to continuing to learn from you!

HI Shari,

ok, I'm definitely this one, SF...not CO or the others. :) I'm going to post some pics on my blog of my spring wardrobe soon. I'll let you know and anyone can come see what my 20's age and style fashionista wardrobe looks like, and it'll be modest too...of course!

btw, I love the orange outfits picture and the sandals picture! cute!!

I think I am mostly modern classic with a dash of style fashionista thrown in! Still trying to determine my color - it seems every time I do the analysis on line I get a different result!

Shari -
love your blog and your book is fabulous!!!! I am a LIGHT and just ordered my color swatches this week. Can't wait for them to come in and then go shopping! YIPPEE!!! I am Classic Modern with some Style Fashionista thrown in. Usually the accessories are where i throw in the Style Fashionista. Sometimes i go daring and try a different top or scarf to go along with the current style.

Carol said...

Even more sure that I'm not a Fashionista - I can hardly spell it :-). I'm still a cross between Pure Natural and Classic Modern. What was it someone called it? A Classic Natural?

Karen N said...

I have had such a hard time deciding between Pure Natural and Classic Modern. After reading your posts with all the pictures I have decided that I am a Classic Modern with a penchant for romantic, feminine accessories. I feel so ''me'' when I wear lace, pearls, and soft romantic colors.

Lorri W said...

Thanks for your descriptions of the different styles. I am a CM with emphasis on Modern and a definate leaning toward SF. Leopard print isn't a neutral?!?! I probably won't be the first one to sport a new trend but I won't be far behind in giving it a try. And my family and coworkers tell me I suffer from COAD - Center of Attention Disorder (it's a good thing I know they all love me :)....)
Thanks for what you do.

Isabelle B said...

Thanks for your descriptions of all the different styles! For a while, I was sure that I was a creative original, but I was proved wrong! I am much, much more of a Classic Modern, but I also have a bit of a Style Fashionista in me. Thanks for what you do.

Shari,

I am a Classic Modern. I have also learned that I am a clear. I am really trying to work on my attire. I have let the throws of being a stay at home mom take me to jeans and tshirt everyday.

Time to make some changes.

Enjoy your snow!
I was amazed when I discovered that I am a 'cool'. At a younger age, I was 'winter'. Guess they do a close race, but was disappointed when I realized that I should not be wearing earth tones, browns and oranges. I have always drooled over lovely shades of browns and deep reds, and such. I am learning to enjoy new colors, and find that I am a combo of classic modern and pure natural, emphasis on CM. Blessings - Jan

Thank you so much for doing this series. I have had trouble figuring out what style I am, but I think I have finally decided that I am classic modern. Although I really admire fashionista on other women, it's just not what I'm most comfortable in.

Shari,
It was a pleasure to have you come and educate us about style and color - you were AMAZING!!! (But I knew that already)
I think I am a Classic Modern with Pure Natural thrown in there.
Pick Me, Pick ME, 'cause remember I have to be in ALL the pictures. LOL
Had a great time getting to know you better. Thanks again!

I think I am mostly a pure natural with a little bit of classic modern thrown in. I have enjoyed all of the articles you did on this subject. Thank you.

I'm a creative original! I like dressing in fashion, but what I like comes before what's in style. I hate it when I have the same outfit as someone else, I just want to be me!

Elin said...

I am a Fashionista/Classic Modern. But, I also LOVE shirts that flow.

Lizabeth said...

I have been having a hard time deciding what my fashion personality is but after looking at these pics I think I'd have to say I am a fashionita even if my stay at home mom budget and lifestyle right now don't support it. I love reading (and laughing!) about the latest and greatest. I love making an entrance and don't like wearing what everyone else is wearing. In fact, it has historically impossible for me to wear what everyone else is. I always seemed to get it wrong! I am NOT a khaki kind of girl! I do veer toward more of that crafty look during the summer when I can't stand to wear shoes and clothes in general (gasp!) and find I live in bare feet or flip flops and flowy skirts. In fact, it's been so long since I have worn tie up shoes that I had to go buy a pair of sneakers recently just so I could join a gym!
Well, I more than answered that question. Maybe a little TMI?
I love this site and your posts Shari. Maybe one of these days I will submit to being a makeover. You should see me in my sweats right now.... CaCa! lol!
